yup. its all over. now we've just got the new year, and then we're done for another year. kinda sad. but the pictures are good at least.

oh its christmas. its christmas. santa is coming - which to be honest - kinda creapy. but whateva. more importanly, my family is coming!! yay!! almost all of them too. i'm sad because Jane and Megan arent coming because they had to make an emergancy trip to toronto, but at least i have the rest of them. my tree is decorated, the prezzies are done, the christmas music is playing...ahhh so good.

so my tarts are crap. the first batch i made were so yummy! so i got really excited about making them. but i ran our of un-bleached white all purpose and used whole wheat pastery instead. turns out you cant substitute the flour. they're dence and gross. the other thing is - i had them in the oven for what seemed like an hour. but they didnt cook fast. i think my oven is broken. this is not something that i want to deal with right before i'm to make a turkey dinner. oh dear.

i have comments! yay! i'm very excited about that.
anyway, I finished my blanket. i love it, paity pants loves it. it glows in the dark - how cool is that? it kind of surprised me though in the middle of the night. Its cozy, and well, already dirty - which i'm taking as a good sign. i see this being her blanket that she carries around like - isnt that guy linous??? (i'm sure thats spelt wrong) I feel super crafty and accomplished. I even made applesauce and got dinner started (in the crockpot) before 8am this morning. yay me.

so i took the kids (the 2 young ones) for a walk this morning. Pait on my back, and M in the stroller. what a workout!! but i needed stamps, honest. the starbucks was just a bonus! and now ist about 10 am, and paity has had a nap, M is happily playing with the blocks and drum....oh so much fun!!!

baby legs

ok, so she may not be the best dresser in the world - but lets be honest. look at her role model. ummmmm ya.

but damn those things are cute. i bought "baby legs" and they're basicly leg warmers for babies. they're pretty big for her now, but they still fit her really well. i was worried with the chub that she has, that they woulnt fit and they'd leave big marks around her, but they fit. its perfect. yay.

we're all well here. i'm busy making cards (acutually i've yet to do that) and baking and sewing. i'd be knitting too, but i just cant find the time!!

mmmmm meatloaf

the band, no. really. the food. i smell it. its quite an odd little concoction though. a loaf. of meat. weird. but you can stick all kinds of good stuff in it. i'm not sure that *he* will eat it, but i can try. a girl is alowed to try.

i sit here and my little paity pants is sitting on the floor at my feet. i'll try not to roll over her. but she has been awfully clingy today. i shouldnt say "awfully" because theres not anything awful about it. i think she's teething. i hope thats what it is. shes got a runny nose, shes cranky, shes a bit drooly and shes eating things. well the last one she does all the time, so thats not an idication of anything really. she should be good soon. i just hope she sleeps tonight.

ah. i think thats it. well. my lips are chapped. i need to drink water. how very random this is.

the more we get together

We've adoped some pets...they're at the bottom of the screen. cute hey? caleb likes them, although he can only play with them on the weekends. maybe one of these days we can get him a real pet. not a fish either - we just kill those things. a real soft lovable hugable pet.

its the weekend again. friday afternoon. clean(ish) house, dishes washed, baby napping, caleb to be picked up in 30 mins. nice. i've decided to start planning my meals. i'm not the best cook you see, my forte is more on the baking road. I think though, if i plan and have recipes (and all the ingredents to go with them), i might acutally develop some skillz with the cooking. wow. thats my resolution, learning how to cook yummy yummy meals. caleb might not eat them, but at least we will!! I'm actually contemplating getting the martha stewart book, the one about keeping your home. i just never learned how to be a...well, i heasitate to say housewife/homemaker, but i guess thats what it is....we'll call it a "family oriented technician". i'll think of a better one when i'm under less pressure.

as soon as i get a handle on it...

I'm pro attachment-parenting. I think its the way to go. I remember thinking that those parents who just had a big family bed were crazy. (i mean, how do you get...ah.."private time"?) well. it turns out i like a big family bed. i just need a bigger bed!! Caleb wasnt really a family bed sleeper. i have no recolection as to how i got him out of my bed, i just think he liked his own bed. i remember thinking he was taking up too much space, so he had to move. Well, Paity likes the bed. a lot. which is ok with me. she sleeps in the crib for the beginning of the night, but by about midnight, all she wants is the big bed. now this wouldnt be a problem, but we've got a double. it fits nick and i comfortably. but she likes it, and nick leaves about 4am anyway, so it doesnt end up being so bad.

its amazing how much you forget though. i tell ya - write it down!!!!! you think you'll remember, but you dont. your brain really has way too much to remember at this time.

whats with the blog???

i dont really know. i guess i use it to waste time, and keep everyone updated. its kinda like an electronic journal - except you keep the "good" parts out (wink wink, say no more, say no more ;)) I'd like to think people are actually reading it, but who really knows. i think i'm going to put up our christmas lists, that way people who are planning on buying pressies for christmas can do so easily. i'm all about spending money easily - god knows its easy enough for me!!! I'd like to have a place for an ejournal, pictures and videos - that way it'll all be in one spot, but i think you have to pay for that kind of thing. i think apple does that. anyway...

Its nicks birthday today!!! he's offically 22..wow - he's really getting up there, i might need to look for a younger replacement.... ahh, i think he's got a few years left in him. HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK!!!

Arrrr Mate

another day, well...more teeth to pull.

Life around the jonk family is pretty normal. i'm loving watching extra kids, although (and i may regret saying this later) i think it would be easier to have one or two more. Manolo is a little young for him and paity to play together. so far the interaction has been smiling, which is totally cute, and him pulling her soother out and (possibly) sucking on it himself. hes pretty darn cute though. he's a lot like i rememeber caleb being when he was little. he keeps to himself a bit, and he likes to watch the world. he doesnt seem to smile too much - but man, when i get one, its pretty great! i'm looking forward to more of this dayhome stuff. i think it'll be good. i just have to get back in the swing of things. What can an 11month old do? i also need to remember what kids eat! all i have right now is milk. beyond that - well, PB&J sandwiches too i guess!

speaking of that, mr little big man has been eating a bit better. i've been a bit more diligent about his lunches, and (crossing fingers) he seems to be eating them. we've been doing mini pita sandwiches (cheese and turkey no less!!) applesauce (which he alwasy loves) muffins and grapes. fab.

my boob is sore

lets hope its not that damn cow disease comin back. its no fun to be on antibiotics and all shaky-like. plus, we cant afford for nick to be off work again.

Poor little paity-pants had a bought of the flu just yesterday. no pictures of that for everyone though - sorry. there were quite a few vomits, and more than one sleeper was involved. not to mention receiving blankets, my clothes, the rug.... it was not a pretty sight. but its so funny how she would get upset, puke, then cry for a couple of minutes, then laugh and be all happy again. even at 3am. its hard not to love that - even in the midst of cleaning up the vomit. i cant decide whether i like it coming out of the bottom end or the top. i guess at least in the bottom end its more-or-less contained. latley its been less contained, but you know what i mean.

what else is new and exciting???? we went to a "natural family fair" today. caleb couldnt go because he has a tonne of birthday parties to go to this month. so we went without him. he would have had fun though because they had some cool "plasma racers" or something that he could play on, and blocks and all sorts of kid-like things. i guess thats because its a family fair. but they had booths up with organic produce, massage, wee sign, attachment partenting, all kinds of good stuff. i'm really enjoying exploring this kind of thing. its too bad that most people think its way too weird to get into. wouldnt the world be a better place if everyone took a look at the options and reserched and went with their instinct, instead of just following what the media tells them what they should? the problem, i find, is that most people know that things arent the best way, but they do it anyway. as if they have no choice. well HELL we have TONNES of choices!! if only more people would start putting there money where their mouth is more often. maybe then we'd be getting somewhere.

i know it costs more. but the world is going to hell in a handbasket - and i think walmart is leading all their little sheep there one by one.

hello my friend

well. i've got a million places to blog, and i'm trying to find my favourate place. so lets see if this fits with me. Life is a little crazy here lately. I've been looking after an 11 month old just for a couple of days. which makes 2 under 1. pretty crazy - but managable. the only rough part, (so far) is gettin out the door to go to school. Paity on my back, 11month old in the stroller. and snow on the ground. i bearly get dressed cause i'm worried that they're going to over-heat. or think that we've left withot them!!

I just found a tooth. well, a very sharp bit in paitys mouth. this co-inciding with a wicked unhapy session. not all crying, but fussy, wailing, cant-put-her-down unhappiness. so tylenol it is. hopefully that'll help.
